If you have them, you pretty much have to get rid of any infested furniture (mattresses, couch cushions, etc.) and BOIL your linens (sheets, towels, ANYTHING they may have gotten on or into).

If you have carpeting, you have a problem, because they will get into that as well, and replacing the carpet is easier said than done…especially if you have to get the landlord’s cooperation.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Most homes have bed bugs, but Penelope’s solution is a tad extreme. Do a google search and judge for yourself.

All homes have Dust Mites, they do not have Bed Bugs. The Bugs will come out at night, crawl on to your sleeping carcass and feast on a blood sandwich. They repeat this dining out session nightly. The tell tell signs are the red welts all over your body. Bed Bugs get into your living quarters by traveling in used furniture and bedding. Always buy new to prevent this transfer from taking place. Now for Dust Mites, these guys cannot be seen with out a microscope, they live in our bedding, stuffed animals, carpeting, pillows, etc., and consume dead skin flakes that we all loose on a daily basis. We breathe their carcasses, feces, etc., into our lungs as they are constantly in the air around us. If you have Bed Bugs, call an exterminator. For Dust Mites, vacuum with a HEPA vacuum and wash your bedding weekly in hot water. Good Luck Also, vacuum your mattress once a month with your new HEPA style vacuum.
