A bed bug infestation comes from bringing them home from somewhere either in your clothing or in a suitcase. If you go to a hotel that has them, you can bring them home in your luggage. Bed bugs don’t just “come in” from outside and infest your house.

To get rid of them, you will need to have your mattress treated by a pest control company or have the room fogged.

You do need to vacuum the mattress, especially around the cording on the edge, and around the mattress, including the baseboards (they love to live in the cracks of baseboards and come out at night).

This website has alot of info: http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef636.asp
But, basically your baby shouldn’t catch anything, that’s rare. But, the bugs do bite and you get an itchy spot…Hope this website helps!
