Question by naomi:
I want those bed bugs dead but I do I have to get rid of my new mattress?

Lately I’ve been a coward to sleep on my new mattress and because of those bugs I can’t sleep at night. Is there any other way to kill bed bugs without having to get rid of my new mattress, and plus does sprays like lice bedding or raid kill these types of bugs?

From what I understand bed bugs are VERY hard to get rid of! Hire an exterminator and YES get rid of the bed! Try googling it and reading up, there is lots of info there. Also talk to a doctor, I do believe there are prespriptions for you to use.

What do you think? Answer below.

Diatomaceous earth can also be sprinkled to kill bedbugs. There also are plastic zip-up mattress covers that kill the bedbugs inside, and seal them off as well. Heat kills bedbugs also, in the summertime if you put your sealed-up bag in the sun and heat the interior to 120 degrees F. that’s enough to kill bedbugs. Freezing probably also works, but information is less available. Washing and Drying laundry is proven to kill bedbugs – for that matter, stuffed animals can be run through the dryer to kill bedbugs. Bedbugs are notorious for also getting into couches and furniture, too – beds aren’t the only place they live. Whole-house heat treatment to 120 degrees also eradicates bedbugs without pesticides.

I wouldn’t want to sleep with pesticide residue, I’d try these other alternatives first. Humans have lived with bedbugs for probably forever. Pesticides are another matter.
