Question by Gina G:
Going to someones house with bedbugs?

My 77yr old mothers house is being treated for bedbugs. I am going to visit her for a day tomorrow from out of state. What precautions can i take not to bring them home with me. I know they come out most of the time at night. I will be gone. i am going to seal my coat and another outfit in a plastic bag with duct tape along with my shoes. Have a bottle of alcohol to spray myself when I leave. Throw the outfit i came on away upon leaving Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I love my mother dearly and don’t want to let bugs come between us but God knows I don’t want them things in my house. Please help.

GROSS!!!!! strip down NAKED before going in her house and protect ur private parts with a bag so the bugs cant crawl inside u and get u sick!!! or buy one of those crawl suits to put on that protects ur WHOLE body!

IF U WEAR MATERIALS IN HER HOUSE THEN TAKE THOSE HOME U WIIIIIILL TAKE THE BUGS WITH U BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!

I think you’re saying you will not be staying overnight? You’re probably safe, then. Bedbugs are nocturnal.

However, it’s better to be safe than sorry. I still recommend taking a shower as soon as you get home, and wash your clothing the minute you step inside your house. Make sure you wear clothes that can be washed in hot water and dried in the dryer because you’ll want to use both of these treatments.

If you take luggage, leave the luggage in your garage for at least 3 weeks after returning home. The freezing temps will kill any bedbugs. Plan ahead and only pack what you can live without for 3 weeks.

This should do it.

With bedbugs, an ounce of prevention is worth about 50 pounds of cure.

Good luck.
