Question by Michael S:
what insecticide kills bed bugs best?

I used suspend sc all over my house but it seems like all it did was make the bugs come out of hiding. If it works, how long does it take to start working? Or what might work better?

The one an exterminator uses.

it’s not really what insecticide is used but how it was used… the suspend sc is what can be used by professionals, but it is a repellent that can chase them out of the hiding places, if you placed out enough that they had to cross as they exited you should get good results, but it can also now chase them around to places you didn’t treat

You should first find the source of the problem and figure out what your battling first. If it is bedbugs call an exterminator for some advice. Their are many different chemicals that will kill bed bugs but you want to get rid of them for good not just a couple days.

The active ingredient in Suspend SC is deltamethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid. Many strains of Bed Bug are highly resistant to this type of pesticide. Furthermore, Bed Bugs tend to avoid chemically treated areas.

It is very difficult to control bed bugs without the help of a pest control professional. I would recommend looking into getting your house treated with heat. By treating with chemicals, you may have caused the bed bugs to scatter, which will make it even more difficult to eliminate them with chemicals. Heat can penetrate every crack and crevice where bed bugs like to hide. For more information see here… http://www.tricountypestco.com/thermal-remediation.asp
