Question by Sue H:
Do you think there is a connection between Illegal immigrants and the bedbug infestations thats been happening

I been noticing on the news all across the country the inner cities have been having a big problem with this. I’m wondering if anyone else put this together? These people are known to fit several families in one apt., and this is not something that is usual in the US.

Yes… as well as significant increases in previously “irradicated” ailments that are a staple of the third world nations…

One particularly disgusting and disease spreading activity that central Americans regularly practice since they lack the water pressure to flush paper in the toilet is to cut a hole in the wall next to the toilet that serves as a “toilet paper reservoir”… and once that hole gets filled they patch it up and cut open another…

I wish I was just making this up… but I’ve been working on HUD homes for close to ten years and this happens in at least 1 out of every 5 homes that are foreclosed on or condemned that we then “rehab”…

I dont think theres a connection there, but i will say that some diseases that have been erradicated in the US, have spring up by immigrants, that does not necessarily mean illegal ALSO usually the ones infected are just among themselfs since for the most part all of us have been vaccinated.

I doubt it. Bed bugs have always been around.

EDIT: However you are right about the fact that they fit several families into one small apartment. I’m sure that causes health issues as well.

I hate illegals as much as the next person but I think bedbugs were with us long before the illegal invasion. Certainly they didn’t HELP the situation but I think it is unfair to say they caused it.

EDIT: Communicable diseases, especially the rare ones ARE a problem caused by illegals and that is another (of many) excellent reasons to demand of the government that they be removed.

The only thing they;re responsible for is making Bill O’Reilly more of a bigot and general PITA than he is naturally.

Immigrants bring diseases, viruses, infections, parasites, all the time.. regardless if they are legal or illegal

Absolutely, and it’s been proven. Illegals are bringing:

Bed bugs
Chagas disease
MRSA
Leprosy
etc.

they are bringing a TON of diseases that are new to this country and have previously been “irradicated”..

“just bringing the diseases, americans won’t bring”
