How to get rid of bed bugs ?

Ok so I got a bed from a friend and I started noticing bites all over me . I found out they were from bed bugs because I actually found them in the bed , I got rid of the box spring and mattress and vacuumed the entire room thoroughly . Is there anything else I should do to make sure they are gone ? Please help ! Thanks

You need to make sure u wash all the sheets, vaccume etc and maybe even wash your pajamas to make sure, posssibly hang any toys on your bed out on the clothes line in the sun incase any bugs have bred on them. Then put all fresh sheets on your bed etc and a week later do it all again to make sure if any bugs still managed to hatch they will be complletely gone again and shouldnt come back after that! If you could evacuate the room and stay somewhere eles for a while you could also put one of those bug repelent bomb things used to get rid of fleas etc in the room, but only if you wont be home for a while because its basically like bu spray, it will fill the room with poisen, but you should not have to go to that extent to resolve th problem.

If you have a carpet, get a Rug Doctor and deep-clean it, because they may have laid eggs in the carpet. Wash curtains and bedding, and vaccuum the mattress every week for about 4 weeks. Clean the bedframe with disinfectant solution and spray the corners of the room and under any furniture, and along the baseboards, with insecticide. Use the kind you’d use on pets.

You may need professional services and pesticides, but perhaps try these more environmentally friendly ideas first; particularly if the infestation isn’t too bad.

It is going to be exhausting but keep on top of it for a few weeks.

Vacuum the whole house at first, even the sofa and upholstered furniture and beds in other rooms. If possible, put the beds in plastic covers.

Vacuum rugs a couple times per day and empty bags. Sprinkle borax on rugs when you’re not in the room then vaccum it up in the evening.

Change sheets daily– throw them in the drier, then wash, then dry.

Take out all bedding from your linen closet and all your pjs/clothes in close proximity to the bed and wash them.

Search for them in all the beds, mattresses & box springs every couple of days. (google pictures so you know what to look for).

Just keep on top of it and keep on top of it and eventually it should dissappate.
