Just looking at their pictures can make your skin crawl. That’s part of why greater Toledo pest control companies have been inundated with phone calls from many asking questions about bed bugs. It’s not cheap, either — whether you do it yourself, or leave it to the professionals. They’re generally the first questions when someone figures out their home’s been infested with bed bugs. “Why did I get them? Where did they come from and can we get rid of them?,” said Derrick Case, an employee for Frame’s Pest Control in West Toledo. Case has already seen his share of the creepy, crawly bloodsuckers, in plenty of different places. “It’s not just associated with any type of class,” he said. “It can be high or low, they have no discrepancy of which. It can be the dirtiest, it can be the cleanest. You still could have them.” And if you do, Case said you won’t see them. Bed bugs are nocturnal, they are awake at night. Before they bite you to suck your blood, they numb you, so you won’t wake up when they dig into your skin.
