Bed bugs really do not like the cold, (or extreme heat) forty – eight hours, in the back of the freezer for a shirt does it, do not forget to wrap the shirt in a plastic bag, as they fall off you do not want them in your freezer. Also, do not believe everything you read about this nasty little things, ‘Raid’ works awesome on them, and so does rubbing alcohol.

Freezing will kill bed bugs. You’ll need to keep the stuffed animals at freezing temperatures for 5 days. Some reports indicate 72 hours will do the job, however, use 5 days to be certain.

As an alternative, you can place the stuffed animal in the dryer for 30 minutes on the highest heat setting. This will also do the job. Bed bugs are killed at 113F. If it will withstand washing in a washing machine, wash in hot water, followed by 20 minutes in the dryer and you are good to go.
