Are these ways to kll bedbugs?

Question by taichou_dono14:
Are these ways to kll bedbugs?

I have been looking around and I have found some websites claiming that if you grind silica gel cat litter or DE to a powdery substance and spread it around your bed/furniture, they will dieI have also herd of a product called “bed bug powder” that claims it is very safe to handle and that it also kills bedbugs
I want to know if any of these claims are actually true. If the “grinding methods” are true, what are the best “cheap” ways of grinding the DE and cat litter?
So if they are,how do they work and how long should it take for it to effectively kill a majority of bedbugs?
Please answer and thank you for taking your time
if these claims are golden, time for war.
I am talking about the real “bed bugs”. Not dustmites. They really do exist and are not microscopic. do a google image search and you will see the little demons that they are.

Pretty sure “don’t let the bedbugs bite” wasn’t supposed to be taken literally. By the way, what is the threat of these “bedbugs”. Because I’m pretty sure you are talking about microscopic mites and things in which case, you have a lot more to worry about than your bed. They are in your couch, your carpet, your car upholstery, and, if you are a girl, your vagina. They are everywhere! What, do you have a personal vendetta against microscopic bugs?

I doubt it….
A buddy of mine lived in an apartment building, and one end of it was infested with bedbugs…so the apartment sprayed…and from what a later exterminator told them, the bugs think of the poison that was sprayed as candy…which explains why after they sprayed, they got a whole lot worse….another exteminator had to be called….and apparently the only thing that will kill bed bugs is some spray you have to have a special license from the feds to use…

They did get rid of them…by moving, and putting all of his stuff in a garage and letting it freeze during the winter. Had to get a whole lot of new stuff to say the least…

Anyhow, I doubt the cat litter and DE will work, I have used them in my garden, and they are only moderately effective against ants – and as far as bugs go, ants are pretty easy to kill.

But, I appreciate your wanting to try getting rid of them this way before pulling out the “big guns” – I’m sure it would be messy as all get out, but hey, give it a try for a few days or a week first.

Whatever you do – follow all the correct protocol in getting rid of your stuff – no use in putting it out on the curb and having someone pick up something and taking bed bugs into thier house….y’know. Thats how this stuff gets spread, luggage, clothing, couches etc.
