Thanksgiving guest and bedbugs?

Question by Meckymec:
Thanksgiving guest and bedbugs?

Hi! I’m having some of my family over for Thanksgiving and I’m not sure whether to have them stay at my apartment or a nearby hotel. I REALLY do not want to get bedbugs and while I’m sure none of them have bedbugs now, I can’t help think they might after the trip. They’re all flying in, which means the possibility of getting them in the airport or on the plane. And even if they do get into town bedbug free, they could always get them at the hotel (or anywhere else for that matter). Also, I live in a 2 bedroom apt, so there’s not that much room for people to stay. I just don’t know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Honestly , If you feel the way you do I would go to a restaurant to eat Thanksgiving dinner and spend a lot of time with them doing that . And then take in some sights .Call it an evening and in the morning take them out for breakfast . Note, they would know if they had bedbugs on them they usually get into get into suitcases . So then invite them to your place , do not be afraid of bed bugs spray after they go but at least you are honoring them and they do not think that they did something also best is to be completely honest with them about your fear of bedbugs and they will understand .

I don’t reccomend telling them that you have a fear of getting bed bugs. Just express your concern of your space and not having enough room for everyone to stay with you, tell them you don’t want to allow one family member to stay at your house and others in an apartment which could cause someone to get upset because you didn’t choose them to stay with you. Let them know that it would be easier for them to stay at a hotel for the night so you will have the room to move freely and not have so many people in your way while your trying to prepare dinner. Hope this helps

I understand your concern, from the news, we get get bedbugs from a dressing room anymore, just think, they may be thinking about the same thing coming to your place!!!! Just relax, the more the merrier and that’s what wonder-full memories are made from
