Question by Marisa A:
BEDBUGS!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!?

So we have a basement, two small bedrooms, a big laundry room, and a larger room.

The laundry room and the large room are infested with fleas, and one of the bedrooms has bedbugs in it, along with the large room also, because my sister keeps waking up with red bites all over her.

We are setting off flea bombs and leaving the house for the weekend to get rid of the flea infestation,

but flea bombs kill the bed bugs also?? if not how do we get rid of the bedbugs and prevent them from spreading upstairs??

PLEASE HELP!!!

It isn’t enough to clean the mattresses and launder the sheets. Furniture should be overturned and cleaned. Carpeting, wood molding, door jambs, picture frames, and closets should be inspected as well. Bed bugs can hide behind loose wallpaper, in the crevices between carpets and walls, behind outlet covers, and inside light fixtures, smoke detectors, and even clocks. Removable, washable items can be laundered in very hot water. For those areas or items that cannot be laundered, smaller items can be wrapped in plastic and set in a hot place or in direct sunlight. The key is to raise the temperature to at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours to kill the eggs and the bugs. Vacuuming and steam cleaning may also be done, but any bags or canisters should be thrown away or emptied outside of the area immediately to prevent another infestation. Unfortunately, it’s very hard to find all bed bugs and all bed bug eggs; that’s why the best method of removing bed bugs, however, is through a professionally handled treatment. most sprays are short term only

Bed bugs stay in the walls and closets during the day.
They get in the mattresses. You will need zip up plastic covers for the mattresses or new mattresses. Bed bugs can go a year with out food.

The bombs will kill the adult fleas. If not written on the can, it will not kill the eggs. It will have to done 2 times.

Putting some boric acid powder, from hardware stores, along the base boards will get the ones that come out of the walls.

Washing everything that can be washed with alcohol will kill them.
Putting a half cup of baking soda and half cup of soap in the wash for the clothes and a cup of vinegar in the rinse should kill the bugs.
After a hot drying, it would be a good ideal to put the clothes in sealed plastic bags.

Salt and baking soda on the carpet will kill the flea eggs. Has to stay on it for hours.

Do not forget to check the furniture and curtains.
