Well, first you have to contact the management of the hostel and tell them what happened. Then request a refund. You may be disappointed, but they can’t refund the money without your complaint and request.

Bedbugs are no laughing matter. They are filthy and spread all types of diseases. If you don’t get satisfaction from the hostel management, contact the D.C. Tourist Board, Health Dept. and go onto the various travel websites and report the problem you had. It’s really important that bedbugs be reported and other travelers be warned.

What were you expecting?

The people that are staying at hostels are generally poor and traveling on a very limited budget. So, Sundaygar from Nigeria came to the USA to visit and stayed at the hostel. And, he brought some “friends” along with him. Bed bugs! He left after two days but his friends decided to stay behind and make their home in the hostel bed.

You get what you pay for.
