Maybe lice?…Basically they mean sleep peacefully when they say don’t let the bed bugs bite.
It rhymes too:
Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.

they crawl all over you. you can wash yourself a thousand times and they will stick on. they are very very incredibly small. you cant see them. they eat skin lint. bed bugs are tiny bugs who suck your blood when you are asleep so they wont get interrupted. its everywhere.its all over your house. EVERYWHERE.

They’re fake.

But one time on the Discovery Channel they were talking about real “Bed Bugs” that are brown and hide in your walls.Once you go to sleep and snore they hear your snoring and eat your blood. Its how they live. And actually it doesn’t effect your body much.(you’re lucky if you don’t snore =])

Bed Bugs are a specific type of bug that tends to live in sheets and bedding.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed_bugs
There are several means by which dwellings can become infested with bedbugs. People can often acquire bedbugs at hotels, motels, and bed-and-breakfasts, as a result of increased domestic and international tourism, and bring them back to their homes in their luggage. They also can pick them up by inadvertently bringing infested furniture or used clothing to their household. If someone is in a place that is severely infested, bedbugs may actually crawl onto and be carried by people’s clothing, although this is atypical behavior — except in the case of severe infestations, bedbugs are not usually carried from place to place by people on clothing they are currently wearing. Finally, bedbugs may travel between units in multi-unit dwellings (such as condominiums and apartment buildings), after being originally brought into the building by one of the above routes.

**Feeding
Bedbugs are generally active only at dawn, with a peak attack period about an hour before dawn, though given the opportunity, they may attempt to feed at other times. Attracted by warmth and the presence of carbon dioxide, the bug pierces the skin of its host with two hollow tubes. With one tube it injects its saliva, which contains anticoagulants and anesthetics, while with the other it withdraws the blood of its host. After feeding for about five minutes, the bug returns to its hiding place. The bites cannot usually be felt until some minutes or hours later, as a dermatological reaction to the injected agents.

Although bedbugs can live for a year or as much as 18 months without feeding, they typically seek blood every five to ten days. While bedbugs that go dormant for lack of food often live longer than a year, well-fed specimens typically live four to six months. Low infestations may be difficult to detect, and it is not unusual for the victim not to even realize they have bedbugs early on. Patterns of bites in a row or a cluster are typical as they may be disturbed while feeding. Bites may be found in a variety of places on the body.

Bedbugs may be erroneously associated with filth in the mistaken notion that this attracts them. However, severe infestations are often associated with poor housekeeping and clutter. Bedbugs are attracted by exhaled carbon dioxide and body heat, not by dirt, and they feed on blood, not waste. In short, the cleanliness of their environments has effect on the control of bedbugs but, unlike cockroaches, does not have a direct effect on bedbugs as they feed on their hosts and not on waste. Good housekeeping in association with proper preparation and mechanical removal by vacuuming will certainly assist in control.

I just did a quick search on google for “bed bugs”. They have pictures. Yes, they are real. Yes, you can see them. Yes they feed on people. No, they don’t listen for the snoring, they live where humans do – like in beds. They used to be very common, then they were very uncommon, and now they are becoming common again. Personal cleanliness will help, but once they infest an area, you will need to exterminate them.

they are ugly things mate, and i am told they are difficult to get rid of they are parasites that live in your mattress bedding etc i know that they are difficult to find because they are good at hiding but they can actually be quite big you don’t need to look through a microscope to see them i had never seen any until the other day when a woman brought some to show biology tutor and i happened to be in the lab apparently they secrete a healing property at the same time as feeding from you so you don’t necessarily know they there,. google it you will get loads of info

they are a form of lice, and a mature adult can be seen by the naked eye. For years these bugs were forgotten and rarely seen, Recently however, new infestations are springing up in America, due largely in part to foreign tourist bringing them over in there luggage unknowingly. These have become a big problem in motels because of this. Bedbug treatment is very costly and you will most likely have to destroy your mattresses and the pest control company will have to go through everything in your home to spray
Recently ,the apts where I work had a breakout in 1 apt, and it took pest control 3 hrs to go through the ladies apt at a cost of $ 745.00 and the lady staying gone for 3 days before returning as per pest control orders
