BedBugs, Cimex lectularius, live usually behind the bedboard and come out at night to feed. During the day, look ehind your headboard (or any wood on or near your bed) to find their nest.
While bedbugs have been known to harbor pathogens in their bodies, including plague and hepatitis B, they have not been linked to the transmission of any disease and are not regarded as a medical threat. Some individuals, however, can get skin infections and scars from scratching bites. While bedbugs are not regarded as a vector of transmissible diseases, they may be a significant source of alarm or distress. With some individuals, it may result in cases of delusional parasitosis and post-traumatic stress disorder.

If you have them so badly, you need to get a Pest Control Co. in to get rid of them.
Not very healthy for anyone.Especially for people who have allergies to those kinds of things.

NO! Everyone does NOT have bedbugs. What everyone DOES have is DUST MITES. There is a huge, HUGE difference!!!
If you really do have bedbugs, you will know by the “bites” you have on your legs, body etc. These bedbugs will come out during the night and “feed” and you will have visible bites the next morning that you will feel as well as see. I would call a professional pest exterminator out AND while they’re at your home, get ALL beds treated AND ask what you need to do to prevent another infestation. (Bedbugs CAN and often do come into your home if you are at a hotel etc. where there is an active infestation present…..you can bring these home with you!!!!). So, be aware of the possibility of further infestation occurring with a hotel stay.)
As for DUST MITES, yes….everyone has them. There are products on the market that you can cover your mattresses with that will prohibit dust mites but you still must constantly wash your linens with HOT HOT water and dry them in the dryer until completely dry. Then be sure you have a dust mite preventive cover on your mattress before you put your sheets back on your bed. There are also sprays you can purchase for dust mites as well. Be sure you dust your home frequently and the best way to do this is to dust with the vacuum attachment. Also, if you can afford it, you can get the “Clean Effects” air cleaners that a licensed a/c professional can install on your central air conditioning system that will clean 99% of the dust out of the air by running the fan all the time which will filter the air through the ‘return air” duct constantly, which will virtually eliminate your dust problem. Very expensive but very effective. Good luck! I hope this helps!!!
