I left my bed outside for a few hours to dry off, what are the odds of getting bed bugs?

My dad left my matress outside to dry after washing it when I spilled something on it. I left it outside for a good part of the afternoon and a nd a little bit of the morning, but now, I’m concerned with the likelyhood of bedbugs. What are the odds of bedbugs making their way into my matress?

None. You don’t get bedbugs that way. You get bed bugs from usually staying in a motel that has bedbugs and bringing them home in your luggage, or someone coming to you home, and carrying them in to you that way. Or buying used furniture that had bedbugs in the furniture. So if you didn’t have them before putting your mattress out to air, don’t worry about it.

Very slim. Back in the day we used to leave our mattresses outside in the sun for the better part of a nice sunny day during spring cleaning. Folks don’t do that much any more, but it’s not because of bugs. It’s because people don’t spring clean like they did in the good ol’ days………
