they are little dots that bite. use lysol and soak the mattress making sure you hit the seems. and wash all bedding or put all of it in a bag for a month.

the first way you can tell is bites on your body these could even be dust mites they bite to …get a spray bottle put a little bleach and water spray the bed clean the entire area including window sills get the same stuff you get for lice and apply to your hair and body that should do it…
there microscopic so you can not see them, though over a period of 10 years your pillow will be about 30% colinized…You can kill them 2 ways….Heat and dryness.
I seriously doubt if you have honest to goodness bedbugs..They are about the size of your little finger nail when full of blood…If they haven’t eaten for a long time they are pale..They come out of the cracks in the dark of nite..to eat..
When I was a kid..folk’s had some in an old chicken house..My dad finally got disgusted with throwing tractor fuel on them that he burned the shed down..They would hide in the roost cracks, & come out & eat on the Hens at nite..Some people used to fumigate their houses..or else just move..They were a scourge on the great plains before chemicals came on the scene.
