Should I have fear of bed bugs?

Question by junkmail:
Should I have fear of bed bugs?

I know this may sound ridiculous. But I am somewhat of a neurotic. My friend is coming to visit from Maui. He lives in the jungle area of Haiku. He is a young, adventurous “jungle boy”. I have concerns that he will bring little critters along- namely, bed bugs. He will be sleeping in my grandson’s bed. Is there valid reason for me to be concerned? PLEASE- only serious relies. No jokes or criticism. Thanks much!

I wouldn’t be paranoid about it, but they do migrate that way. Clean linens. Steam cleaning carpet, mattress seams, sofa, curtains are first step in control, treat cracks and crevices, carpet, seams of mattress/sofa, curtains with a rated indoor insecticide for beg bugs. Beg bugs have evolved and are hard to control these days, if you have a outbreak, you should call a professional.

if his body isn’t covered with bites or scars from bites, then it’s quite possible he’s never had them!!!… the entire island isn’t necessarily a bug haven….. relax and enjoy your friend’s visit…..
