i am being bitten in bed by invisible bugs?

in Bedbug Questions

Question by doribll:
i am being bitten in bed by invisible bugs?

they are not bed bugs and i have sprayed everything — matress, wood planks under mattress with raid and other formulas but nothing works and nothing is visible except the welts on my skin. i have a dog but he is always treated for fleas.
they are not bed bugs because you can see bed bugs and these are not seen. i do not have an allergic reaction because i can sleep in other beds with no problem.
i live in puerto vallarta mexico and don’t have access to some products mentioned. it is NOT an allergic reaction because i have slept in other beds with no problem. i have no inner springs as the mattress sits on wooden planks over an iron base. they are also NOT bed bugs because you can see bed bugs. they are also NOT noseeums or chiggers because we don’t have them here.

If you have done all that, then junk your bedding and start fresh. Something is definitely wrong.

Go to a dermatologist, maybe nothing is biting you, maybe you just have allergies.

Betcha it’s dust mites. Get you some of that “Dust mite spray”. They sell it at Wal-Mart. If that doesn’t work, get some fresh bedding. How old is your mattress? Sometimes they live in matresses.

Sounds like you have spiders. There is a insecticide called “Bug Stop”, it will kill spiders for at least nine months, and any other bugs as well. It’s very inexpensive, you can buy it at any garden or hardware store.

If you are positive the problem is not bed bugs, you could have contact dermititis, an allergic reaction of the skin which could be caused by your laundry detergent or fabric softener.

WHAT DO BED BUG BITES LOOK LIKE?

Bed bugs are not usually considered to be disease carriers.

They do suck blood from their host with piercing mouth parts but the bite is painless.

The skin may become irritated or inflamed due to the salivary fluid injected by the bed bugs .A small, hard, swollen, white welt may develop at the site of each bite.

It is important to recognize that not all bites or bite-like reactions are due to bed bugs. Bed bugs or their signs will be present if it is a bed bug bite.

Bed bugs do not live under the skin. If you experience biting sensations during the day, it may be an allergy related condition.
(Other possible sources of irritation are discussed in University of Kentucky entomology fact sheet Invisible Itches: Insect and Non-Insect Causes).
Bed bugs may leave odors because of their stink glands.

they are most likely bed bugs! You probably haven’t discovered and treated all their hiding places.
