I just moved into a apt and there were bed bugs here and my kids are getting bite every nite and the landlord refuses to come and treat the apt for bugs or move us to another apt. what can i do? i have call Housing athority they said they cant do anything and DCF office. nothing. please help!!!!!!! This is not fair to kids.they are both under the age of 3yrs. and a new born due in 2 months. i cant bring a new baby to a apt like this.

Steam cleaning is the best wat to kill the bugs, then vacuum them up.

Sorry dear. You cannot eradicate bugs by any means except starvation death. You have to be away from this apt until all bugs die then reoccupy. Even if you move to good apt, you may carry some bugs with your belongings. Insect killers work temporarily.
Since bed bugs can go up to a year without feeding, vacating alone is not the answer. The required treatment is difficult, expensive and time consuming. All furniture need be treated, all flooring, baseboards, drilling into the walls, etc.. If they are blaming you, you will most likely have to pay for the service.
