Have you ever had bed bugs in your house?

Do you currently have a bed bug problem in your house? What city do you live in? I’m in Los Angeles and I’ve been reading that the problem is getting worse.

I live in Green Bay and we’ve had them before. We bought a Kirby vacuum cleaner and you can actually use it to vacuum your mattress and that really took care of the problem. You don’t even want to know what comes out of your mattress when you vacuum it. Yikes.

Bedbugs are a nightmare…one that won’t be cured with a vacuum alone. Check your hands for cracking and blistering (a sign of a reaction to their bites). Check your bedding for brownish red smears (feeding indicators). In really bad cases a strange “bug” smell will also be present. The bugs will feed once or twice a week. They feed during the three hour period before dawn. The hide in remote places like wall receptacles, inside television sets and bedside clocks as well as in bedding crevices and under mattresses. The best thing is to sprinkle diatomaceous earth under your bed so that anything crawling from somewhere else in the room will have to come into contact with the DE. Then, examine the bedding, mattress and bed frame BEYOND thoroughly. Bug bomb the room then bomb again in two weeks. Use triple the recommended bombs per room. That should do it. Then the real hard part is getting the bugs out of your head. My skin still crawls from my nightmare. But I beat the bastards!
