If you think you have bedbugs, there are some companies that train dogs to sniff them out.

They are nocturnal. If you have them in your bed try looking in the outer rim around your mattress and in between the mattress and box springs. They bite you but I don’t believe they actually live on a person because again they don’t like light.

Bedbugs are small and reddish brown, are the size of the period at the end of this sentence. The don’t like light and hide along the seams in the mattress and bedding. You should wash the bedding and the springs: Vacuum the mattress real good both sides and the floor around the bed, the curtains etc. Pick up all your clothing and wash it, rugs etc. Vacuum the mattress twice a week both sides.

bed bugs cannot be seen with the naked eye, they are almost impossible to fully get rid of, they feed off your dead skin that you shed when you sleep, and im not sure if this is 100 percent true, but i was once told that the film on your teeth when you wake up in the morning is directly related to bed bug poop. but who knows..

Adult bed bugs are about 1/4 of an inch long and visible with the naked eye. Bed bug eggs and nymphs are of course smaller and not always easily visible. However, large enough clusters of eggs and exoskeletons (bed bugs molt to grow bigger) are visible. Bed bugs leave certain signs of their presence though. Look for blood marks on your sheets and areas of dried brown spots on your mattress and box springs. The best bet is to check in mattress seams and the underside of your boxspring. Also check screw holes and gaps between the pieces of the bed where they fit together.

Bed bugs target any skin that exposed while you are sleeping. They do not feed on skin as one commenter noted. They feed on your blood.

Although bed bugs feed on people, they don’t stay on the body like lice. They typically find places near a bed to hide. They come out and feed, then they go back to hiding. Their primary hiding spots are mattresses, box springs and bed frames.
