Vaccum with a good vaccum that has alot of suction power. Spray mattresss with LYSOL and lay in the sun all day. Repeat. Also try using the spray you use to get rid of LICE. Over the counter at any food/department store

Launder everything in scalding hot water. Remove from the house, and burn the mattress and carpeting.

A Canadian website but good info: http://www.pestcontrolcanada.com/INSECTS/get_rid_of_bed_bugs.htm

It’s almost essential to have it done professionally. In the UK the Pest Control Officer will do it for free, I believe. In your friend’s case, the landlord should pay for deinfestation and QUICKLY. Get advice from your local Citizens Advice centre about what should be done.

You have to get rid of the mattress…because they get deep into the mattress and stay there…that’s the only way to get rid of them..all bedding you should get rid of, they will live there for a long time…

They are very hard to get rid of. She should send a certified letter to the landlord and demand that an exterminator be sent immediately. Otherwise, she will have to hire an exterminator herself and bill the landlord for the cost. She may have to go to small claims court to collect. She could also threaten to with hold her rent until the landlord complies.
She cannot get rid of these bugs by herself . It will take multiple treatment by an exterminator.

I saw on t.v that these bugs live in baseboards, and behind headboards by day!! She needs to check out these spots, and then spray them!! I’m itching just thinking about it!

We moved into an old house that had bed bugs, I had to wash everything several times and I use Ortho max indoor spray.
