How do you get rid of bed bugs?

NY is becoming infested with bed bugs. How can I prevent them? How do you get rid of them? I’m afraid my apartment building might become infested. I can’t afford to throw everything out and buy new things. What can I do before they get here?

Usually contact a pest control. They can give u something like powder to put around the apartment that will kill and keep away bed bugs. Thats wat we had to do but idk bout ny cuz im in hawaii lol. But do try contacting some sort of pest control.
