Question by Sally B:
bed bugs???
so my family and i have just recently moved into a new apartment. the first week we slept there my parents woke up itchy so they slept downstairs for a couple weeks. my brother and i on the other hand, havent been bitten. but when my bf comes over to spend the night with me he wakes up with a lot of bug bites. so my questions are: what are these bugs? and why is it selective?

It may be spiders. Its creepy, but spiders often make their nests underneath sheets or in the cracks between matresses… i recomend washing all the sheets and everything on the bed immediatly, and if you’ve got a vacuume with a hose, just vacuum like mad around the beds.

i dont know if it’s “bedbugs” but mosquitoes are selective on who they bite. it is genetic, they are attracted to certain blood types and smells. put some screens up and tell your bf to eat garlic it works they won’t bite after that.

sounds ike oyu need to call a pest control company
2 reasons, they are flee like small bugs that get inside your skin causing internal itchyness, comes from cats, dogs, rats, birds, or if the bed is too old( matress) and is to diry it needs a good cleanout with water or others before useage, works for me.
may be bed bugs or fleas or dust mites some people are more sensitive to than others steam clean carpet and wash all bed linens get a matress cover that covers entire matress w/zipper they have ones specially for dust mites and bed bugs non-allegenic also get new pillows and inner cases for those anything you can wash blankets comforters etc etc wash in HOT and dry in highest temp for at least 60 min to kill any infestation
they could be bed bugs my mom had them and they lived in her couch and if some people sat or slept on it they would get bit others wouldn’t we decided that since everyone has their own scent that discouraged them from biting she threw out the couch called termintx and had to get a few treatments but now nothing is biting!! you can’t see them but she said she saw a nest
the way to tell if its bed bugs as opposed to some other kind of bite is that bed bugs make burrows in on the palms of your hands and often in between your fingers and toes. the burrows look like little brown spots or lines
Insect bites and their treatment are discussed in the source below. Bed bugs are also discussed.
