Bed Bug Infestation at Local Apartment Complex

It’s a story we’ve been following all week, bed bugs breaking out in West Texas, and today residents at an apartment complex in Midland contacted us. People at Windsor Place Apartments say they’ve been living with bed bugs for weeks and that the complex isn’t doing enough. The City of Midland’s building inspector has been to the complex, and does confirm that there is at least one unit with bed bugs, but the residents I spoke with today say they’re spreading. “It would not surprise me that everybody has them, it would not surprise me,” Debbie Eberhart says she first noticed the bites on her feet and arms two weeks ago. “As time went on we found out people below us have them.” The resident below them has bites ands scabs all over her arms and neck. “She said her son is worse, and he has to go to school and he’s just itching.” Eberhart says after an exterminator sprayed just three of the units the bugs are back, and this time it’s a health risk for her newborn twin grandsons who live in the complex. “I went a week before the twins came home and told them, I think we need a re-treat, I’ve got another bite and the response I got was just vacuum.” Another resident, Keith Porter, whose unit was never checked, says his son has bites on his arms and legs. “Even my wife’s concerned and upset with the fact that she’s only spraying a couple of the apartments at a time instead of the whole complex to get rid of them, and they keep coming back.” With a lack of response from the
