If you refuse to work in a house infested with bedbugs could you be fired?

I work in a boarding home for people with developmental disabilities that is infested with bedbugs and want to know if I decide I won’t work there while the bugs are still there would I lose my job?

You may call the health department and let them know that this condition exists. If you decide that you cannot work there because of the infestation, then yes, you could lose your job.
If the heatlth department follow’s up on your tip, they may close the place for that and other violations. Then you would most likely be out of a job.

I suppose if you refused to work for a variety of reasons you could be fired.
