Do pyrethrums work against bed bugs?

in Bedbug Questions

Question by tRiKsTeRgOd:
Do pyrethrums work against bed bugs?

I’m hoping that Cyndy responds to this. Since bed bugs are almost everywhere, do pyrethrums have any effect (i.e., kill, or make them sick and move on)? If so, wouldn’t it be a wonderful idea for someone to invent a sheet of material that could be infused with pyrethrum that would go between the box springs and the mattress? Think of all those sales to motels, who could advertise that they have it!!!
Thoughts please

Pyrethrins should work against bedbugs, unless the bedbugs have become resistant to pesticides. Unfortunately, pyrethrins are poisonous to humans, though not as poisonous as to bedbugs.

Hi im a pest controller who deals only with this kind of pest and sorry to say those chemicals do not work against bed bugs any more as they have buit up a resistance to it, the use of it will ussually have a deterrant effect and spread them around a property more and in some cases to ajoining properties
