How can I prevent getting bedbugs?

Question by liketostartabusiness:
How can I prevent getting bedbugs?

My new roommate of two weeks told me he got bitten by bedbugs last night. He also told me that the place where he lived befor had them, but he promised me he washed everything….exept for his pillows and two boxes which he claims where sealed. He did not bring any furniture or mattresses. Just cloth and bedding. We have brand new carpet in the whole place.
I had to borough one of his pillows for a few days and now I am freaked out because I did not know this. Is it possibel they are in my room too?
I have no bites so far but my sleep is ruined over this.

If i call pest control today, is it possibel that they can kill them all befor they spread? Can I get rid of them for good????

My friend had the same problem. She used the fog bomb thing… its sold anywhere i think … and u just set it off … fog fills the room … and you leave for a few hours and when u come back … bugs shud be gone… look into it 🙂

wash everything in hot water. I don’t know about your roommate, but I know someone who said they had bedbugs EVERYWHERE and they were always biting her. (i was friends with her roommate) I went over there one time and never saw or felt a bug. She said they were like fleas jumping everywhere (they didn’t have pets). And they were always biting her.

Turned out she was on meth. weird story I know.

Just wash everything and vacuum. then dump the vacuum bag in another bag and throw it out
