broke and homeless and bedbugs, oh my?

Question by Kathy F:
broke and homeless and bedbugs, oh my?

in one week i have lost everything. a year ago i was pregnant and quit work due to weight restrictions. my boyfriend supported me and my now 7 month old baby boy. my boyfriend made an okay amount of money but things were looking up. the three of us moved in with friends to make ends meet for a short period of time. what we didn’t know was that our friends apartment was infested with bedbugs. after several treatments i have decided that we have now lost our battle with the bedbugs and the apartment is better of being burned to the ground.

last week my boyfriend got arrested and is being deported back to Honduras from where he came. (he didn’t do anything serious and i love him and we have a baby together so please no judging and i have enough already going on so i really don’t want to hear your rude comments) . our car has a messed up transmission and will so be reposed soon if i don’t make a payment. and if i don’t have a car i have no way of going to work. since i never went back to work i have no money. i’m 200.00 in debt and i have 8 dollars in my pocket. i’ve been looking for a job but no hits. and i cannot afford to pay my roommates more than half of my share of the apartment. i have food stamps and WIC and that is the only thing that is keeping me from starving. is there anyway out of all this?

oh and i just had a birthday yesterday so i’m now 20. happy birthday to me.

It seems that you have habitually made extremely bad choices in your life, so what would difference would one more make? You could be celibate. You know, stand on the corner and sell a bit? No worse than mating with an illegal alien!

First of all, I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time at moment.

If your situation doesn’t improve you may want to look into shelters in your area that will help you get back on your feet if you can’t rely on family for support. I know several cities have some especially for pregnant women and women with babies. Since you have access for a computer, look some up online and look up other options for homeless women in your area.

I would not want to have my child in a home that is infested with bed bugs. While they are not known for spreading disease, they do leave behind very itchy welts on the skin.
