How do I tell my friend who has bed bugs that I don’t want him to visit me until he gets rid of them?

I have a friend who found out he has bedbugs! I have not been over there to visit anymore since he told me but I also don’t want him coming to my house or riding in my car either until he gets rid of them!( they can travel in a person’s clothing or bags). Today he was asking how to get to my house like he was going to come over tomorrow or something. How can I tell him to stay away until he is clean?

Tell him you have bedbugs and you don’t want to contaminate his clothes, luggage, etc with them and cause him to have bedbugs at his house. HA HA

Seriously, He may not realize that they can be transported to you that easily. Explain to him that it’s not that you don’t want to see him, but that bedbugs are really difficult to get rid of and you just don’t want to take that chance.

You should also tell him that he will need a professional exterminator, preferrably one that specializes in bedbug treatments, to treat his property. These can be very difficult and expensive to treat, and should not be taken lightly.

On the other hand, If clothes are laundered in hot water, and dried in the clothes dryer. There will be sufficient heat to kill the bedbugs in these garments.

So, freshly laundered garments are not likely to contain the bugs, if they are being worn out of the dryer. Luggage on the other hand should not be allowed to come from his home to yours.
