Can it be used on my bed after I have hot steamed the mattress and box spring

It would not be very healthy for you to have the powder or the ant killer on your bed. It does not need to get on you. A cover that completely covers your mattress and zips up will keep the bugs off your mattress. It would need to stay on it for one year. Bed bugs can go for a year with out eating. Places like Target have the mattresses.
