buy yourself a protect-a-bed…its sold at most bedding stores..it keeps the bedbugs from getting into your mattress…it goes over your mattress and you wash it like a sheet…it works wonders..good luck

Unless you sleep in the same bed, it is possible that your roommate doesn’t sleep with bedbugs. You can get rid of the critters:

They hide behind the headboard and breed there; dismantle the bed or look behind the headboard and treat it with something that kills them.
Wash your bed linens in hot water and dry them in the dryer. Vacuum the mattress too.

You have a serious problem. They are very hard to get rid of and they multiply like crazy. Call in an exterminator immediately.

Bedbugs usually stay in one area, so if they are in your bed, they might not be in your roommates bed. There are products you can buy to get rid of them. Before we go too far, are you sure you have bed bugs? Did you see them? Do you have pets? They could be fleas.
To tell if they are fleas, take a shallow pan and put water in it, then put in on the floor near a night light. At night, the fleas are attracted to the light and then get trapped in the water.
If they are bed bugs, they do hide out in the cracks of the bed, plus, there will be grey spots all over the bed. The link has pictures on what you will see.

Just don’t throw the matress on the street, you could infect the whole neighborhood too.
