Treatment
Treatment of your bedbug bites is aimed at relieving your symptoms, and they’ll usually resolve themselves within one to two weeks without treatment.

Apply a topical cream, such as cortisone, to relieve itching.
Apply an antiseptic or antibiotic ointment to any breaks in the skin to prevent secondary infections.
Consult your doctor if you suffer severe reactions. An oral antibiotic or oral corticosteroidmay be recommended.
Take antihistamines if needed to help relieve allergic reactions.
Once your symptoms are treated, you must tackle the underlying infestation. This difficult task usually requires a professional inspection of the bedbug habitat and subsequent extermination.

Calamine lotion or Budreux’s Butt Paste will stop the itching. More importantly, take your bed apart and inspect your immediate area to get rid of the bugs. You will find them packed into crevices in the wood and between headboards and walls and nearby dressers. The easiest way to get rid of them is to hit them with a steamer and then vacuum them out. Heat kills them better than sprays. Make sure your bedding is washed in hot water, too.

Other than spelling the name wrong…’Francisco’ not ‘Fransico’.. (although NOT, according to some comedians), welcome to The City! There have been articles written in some of the finest magazines about bedbugs in San Francisco, especially in hotels, even fine ones. Not good. I got them in Mexico years ago. Do what I did: I went to a pharmacy and spoke with the pharmacist who gave me a kerosene-based liquid to kill the ones on my body and some ointment to use to diminish the itching. He also said I should BOIL my clothing, towels and sheets, have my blankets dry-cleaned, throw away my pillows and mattress and steam-clean carpets and rugs. Vacuum EVERYTHING in your house/apartment and wash it with Lysol where appropriate. And be prepared to do it at least one more time.
