Should I remove my clothes from my closet when bombing for bed bugs?

I also have a pet rabbit, would that affect her in any way?

Not to avoid your question, but I have read that bed bugs cannot be rid of with regular bug bombs – it takes a professional exterminator to get rid of them ( they are so small that they are hard to see )

I’m the editor of the http://www.bed-bugs-handbook.com. Bed bug bombs are not an effective way to remove bed bugs from your home as they may not penetrate all surfaces. It requires multiple products and treatment of every inch of an infested room. I’ve attached a resource from the handbook with step by step instructions. If you decide to go the do it yourself route, buy a kit with a high quality spray and bed bug dust product. Using these in addition to vacuuming, steaming, and covering mattress and box springs with bed bug rated coverings will help.

I’d strongly suggest hiring a professional such as a national chain with bed bugs experience such as Terminix. I like Terminix in particular since they offer a free in home inspection and guarantee the work. Their number is 877.291.4849.

Don’t be surprised that if you hire someone or do it yourself, it can take 2 or 3 treatments.

Remove your rabbit from any treated room until sprays have tried or any insecticides have settled. In terms of your clothes, wash everything in hot water. Don’t carry items from room unless they are in a sealed plastic bin (the kind with a snap on lid) or a good tip is to use Ziploc double zipper big bags, as these are bed bug proof.
