What causes bed mites or bed bugs?

Question by Lynn L:
What causes bed mites or bed bugs?

I moved my bed near a window recently and was afraid they came from there. Then I found tiny grey or red bugs crawling on my laptop and pillow. I looked up the size of them and they look nothing like bed bugs. They are way smaller and come in like two or three at a time. They are small enough to be completely crushed by the little ballpoint of a pen. They say they bite and make you very itchy, but i’ve experienced none of that. I’m wondering where did they come from?

Sounds like either a red biting mite or a very small red spider.

Each one can likely be killed by a non-toxic enzyme spray like Kleen-Free or Sterfabb so you can apply it yourself to get rid of them and would not need an exterminator or need to vacate your apartment.
