Question Concerning Bed Bugs: I just sprayed my sheets and mattress with bleach?

Was this the right thing to do? Do you think it would work? I only seen them so far near the bed and no where else in my home, and particularly only on the edges of the mattress and box spring (where I did the most spraying). Suggestions or advice will be appreciated.

As i just learned in order to get rid of bed bugs u must use a hair dryer or blower to make the bugs come out of hiding then after that kill that bugs using a roach spray that u can put on the mattress that wont contaminate the bed. The roach spray that are good for the bed is very rare so u must buy it online.

What do you think? Answer below.

Bleach water is a fairly safe way to kill things like bacteria. Its effect on something like a bedbug though, is something I know nothing about. Rubbing alcohol is pretty lethal to insects. But bed bugs are tough, and they live places other than the bed.

Under treatment it seems to indicate that you need a professional exterminator.

If you have a bedbug infestation you need to take the mattress/boxspring out of the room and do a through cleaning..

You need to wrap the mattress and boxspring in plastic sheeting and duct tape the ends closed like a present… Remove from the room if it’s cold put the mattresses OUTSIDE for awhile..

While the room is empty of the mattress/boxspring-

You may want to spray the frame with bleach water and give it a through once over and also your nightstands…

If you can you may want to vacuum your carpets AND steam clean them…

Bring your mattresses/boxspring back in and vacuum with a shop vac- hopefully any bedbugs will have died in the cold weather..

Buy a mattress/boxspring cover and seal mattresses that should keep them from “feeding” on you at night… Eventually -and this can take up to a yr. they will die from not eating but, maybe sooner.

Good luck

You need to change the sheets every 2-3 days and vacuum the entire mattress at that time. Your skin exfoliates when you sleep and that’s what they eat. Vacuuming the mattress takes away the food source and they will die off. (Read this in an article about a year ago. It works!)

USE A VACUM CLEANER. suck the little gits dry. I usually do mine once every month but really once every two months is fine. when i change the best i vacum the matress on both sides, spray fabric freshener which elimates odours, and then sit up to let the air at it. The little bugs HATE fresh air, the love the smell and skin residue that traps in your matress even if you do use a matress cover. the ebst thing to do is that and after a few hours turn you r matress over and use two matress sheets every time this stops the bugs getting to the skin residue and sweat particles.
