Do I have bed bugs or just an allergic reaction?
Today I noticed two irritating welts on my back. they were right next to eachother. I have an irritated rash on my hand to. This started after I put this cheap thermal blanket I had yet to open on my bed. They had been packaged for a year, and my stupidity didnt wash them. Ive been researching bed bugs signs, and inspected my bed. I didnt see any blood nor did I see signs of bed bugs. Could I just be having an allergic reaction to those sheets? Or do I have a bed bug problem?

did it look like tiny little bumps all over your hand or back? i had an allergic reaction, with multiple bumps it was itchy. Try sleeping without the blanket and if you don’t get any rash then your good to go.

If the thermal blanket was packaged away, it could just be a bit of reaction from dust, dust mites.
I pulled out my old blanket from the chest i kept it in all summer, and I couldn’t sleep with it..my skin was itching and got all prickly with bumps..
But I know that I am allergic to dust and other allergens. I recently found out that goose down on my skin causes allergic reaction too. maybe it’s the material that the blanket is composed of.
To see if it is allergies and not bugs go to the bed without the blanket and observe your skin, if you still keep getting more welts but in different spots and they don’t go away then you definately might have a bug problem. Also take an anti-histamine like Benadryl or Reactine.. If the welts reduce and dissapear it was definately an allergic reaction.
