I don’t want to bring bedbugs home. What can I do?

I live in bedbug free Wyoming, but am planning to visit Washington DC in April. When I return home should I leave my luggage outside over night or so to freeze any chance of getting bedbugs?

everyone has bed bugs their just tiny harmless germs that live on your bed,couch etc.
