Question by spidery:
Is it my landlords job to pay to get rid of the bedbugs?

He said I brought them in my apartment, I said I didn’t, they must have been dormant or something. I just moved in 1 week ago, and never had them in my last apartment.

This is an epidemic!! I think its one of the first plagues of many to come before the year 2012. <-- half joking. 🙁 Best answer:

You may take him to small claims court for this one. It’s a he said / she said thing, but if other tenants have a problem, it’s a good bet that they were there when you moved in. Bed bugs are VERY difficult to eradicate, they hide in just about anything, picture frames, curtains, etc. ( pretty much wherever there’s a crevice) They’ll lay their eggs just about anywhere. Just throwing away your mattress won’t solve the problem, you’ll need several treatments by a qualified pest removal service. A co-worker of mine just left a pest removal company and was telling me how hard these pests are to get rid of.
