Question by Mme:
Can you get bedbugs from using public laundromats?

With all the scare about bedbugs, I was wondering, if you were to use a public laundromat after someone who has an infestation, is it possible your clothes could get infested as well, or would they die in the water or heat of the dryer?

Yes. The eggs could survive inadequate washing or drying, but you would be more likely to pick them up live from a common table where dirty laundry was sorted.

Keep your mattress wrapped in heavy plastic and you will have little trouble with bedbugs. The heavy plastic keeps them from nesting.

Yes, you can also bring them home on your clothing while shopping in a crowded store.
