If you put a plastic cover over a matress does that kill, or prevent bed bugs?

No. The plastic cover is to keep the mattress from getting wet. It has nothing to do with bed bugs.

No. Bed bugs don’t just live in your bed. They get into the carpet, wallboard, anyplace where there is a space big enough for them.
