how to control bedbugs?

i believe i’ve read that in order to kill bed bugs a HIGH HEAT in the room is needed. how high i’m not sure but i know there seems to be a lot of that going around again these days including the best of hotels.
i believe they shut the room up then add heat. try investigating this method. i’ve not seen anything good about sprays being used. you might ask at your local hardware store what they might recommend.
they say that most of the problem has been brought here again by people who have visited foreign lands and has spread like wildfire.
good luck to ya.

This is the best information I know, straight from the Department of Defense (they must have to deal with these a lot):
http://www.afpmb.org/pubs/tims/TG44/TG44.htm

EDIT: Here’s a quote from the pamphlet about using heat as a control for bedbugs: “Heat. Since the early 1900s, bed bugs have been controlled by heating infested rooms or whole buildings to temperatures of at least 45oC; the thermal death point for these pests. For heat treatment to be effective, it is critical that high temperature and low relative humidity be attained for a minimum length of time. Some species of stored product beetles, which are often difficult to kill, have been eliminated by exposure to a combination of 49-52oC (120-125oF) and 20-30% relative humidity for 20-30 minutes. Heat treatment provides no residual effect, and bed bugs can re-occupy any site so treated immediately after temperatures return to suitable levels. Potential physical distortion of structures or their contents, as well as flammability risks associated with some kinds of heat sources, may be a concern in particular situations (Usinger 1966). Laundering infested linens or cloth items in hot water with detergent, followed by at least 20 minutes in a clothes dryer on low heat, should kill all life stages of bed bugs but would not prevent their reinfestation.”

You do not want to control them, you need to absolutely eradicate them. The answer you got concerning heat does not ring true, these type of bugs thrive anywhere it is warm.Your best bet is to call out the local pest control officer who will seal the room or rooms and fumigate them. That is the most effective way of getting rid of these horrible things.Good luck.
