Will Ontario Disability (ODSP) pay for you to have bed bugs exterminated?

Boyfriend who is on disability about 6 months ago moved into a new apt and there was(and still is) defiantly bed bugs, but he cannot afford to get rid of them or replace his bed, some guy said he told disability and they replaced his bed and payed for the extermination.. Is this true?

I don’t think so. They are probably in other apts. and would soon come back, and the cycle would go on and on. However, call the Ontario Government department that looks after the Landlord and Tenancy Act for advice. I think they can force the landlord to take steps to fumigate all apartments in the building. An exception might be a very small building.
The City government might also be interested and have advice.
Of course, you haven’t said whether he reported it to the landlord. A good landlord would want to do something about it, provided he knows about it.
