Question by opsc_05:
I can’t afford an exterminator to kill bed bugs. What should I do?
I live in a house, not an apartment building. I was being bitten every night, so I started searching the net on what it could be. Tonight I caught one on my right shoulder. Since I live in a house, would it be effective to spray and bomb every inch of the house? Should I vacuum, steam clean, wash clothes, then spray/bomb? What are the steps? I don’t want a natural method either. I want these things to die painfully and quickly.

well im not sure what kinda bug you got however- first i would get rid of boxes and clutter if any setting around then you could bomb the house that would be most effective to get a quick catch on things but also if you can stand mothballs you could sprinkle them heavily in the attic and basement and around the house they will smell a little at first but the smell will fade away this will keep bugs and mice away and its pretty cheap and inexpensive.
What do you think? Answer below.

Sorry you are screwed. These darned things are almost impossible to get rid of, even with an exterminator. Most exterminators won’t guarantee the treatment.
What I have heard is that you have to freeze everything for at least 48 hours or throw everything out-beds, furniture. EVERYTHING.
One apartment building had them so bad that the management took all of the tenants furnishing to a freezer storage and then had an exterminator come in.
Flea and Tick killer will kill lice the same kind you spray for dogs and cats the mattress is contaminated the only way to really deal with it is put in large plastic mattress bag air tight for I think it like 60 days enough for the eggs to die also then vaccuum really well with shop vac it is a mess I had to do this with lice and I will bet its about the same thing everything around then needs to be washed in hot water and hot dryer if cant be washed throw in hot dryer. The carpet needs to be sprayed the base boards the window seals the door openings I would do them inside and out! Good luck lot of work but worth it!
the best thing to do is to buy this powder that they sell and sprinkle it all over the inside of your bottom mattress. you may have to rip open the bottom liner to get it inside where those suckers hide. Then spray down the mattress with goodnight bed bug mattress spray. wash your bedding thoroughly and they should die off. if you are worried they may return then i would definitely bomb the home as well.
