Do I have fleas or bedbugs?

Question by pirateprincess:
Do I have fleas or bedbugs?

For the past week I thought I had bedbugs since I’ve itchy and eaten alive by something. But today I saw four extremely small black insects that jump, they don’t look like the bedbug pictures I saw on the internet. And I’m pretty sure i read on wikipedia that bedbugs don’t jump. I think they’re fleas. It doesn’t seem to effect anyone else except me and my brother who hangs out in my room. I sprayed my bed, pillows and area around my bed with an indoor multi-insect spray yesterday. I don’t think it’s working since I’m still finding new bites. I’ve also changes my sheets and my parents made me get on my knees to clean the floor. What else can I do about this?

We don’t have a dog. My neighbors have a dog upstairs (we live in an apartment) but it’s never been inside our house.

you can bring fleas into your apt. if your neighbor’s dog has them. talk to them about the situation. you can buy a flea spray for your apt. or sprinkle boric acid around the perimeters of the rooms. vacuum often and dispose of the bags.

You have fleas. They have hitched a rid on you straight to bed. You will need to get your house sprayed for fleas ASAP. Remember to vacuum as much as possible as it helps make the eggs hatch. Throw away the bag each time you vacuum. Make sure to throw it away in the outside trash and not in your kitchen trash as these pesty bugs will get out. You may need to respray in about 10 days. If you can’t afford a professional to spray, go to a pet store and buy one of there flea bombs. Insect spray will not kill these pest. Good Luck!
