Bedbugs – I’m not sure though?

just recently this week I’ve been itching and getting random tiny bites when laying or just being in my room. I’ve killed a bug the other day I’m not quiet sure if thats a bedbug. I’ve told my mother today, she told me the mattress is probably too old, cause of all the germs and whats inside of the mattress. so I’m deciding should i throw it away and buy a new one? Well unfortunately, i have to buy a new bed with my own money and my mother is chipping in some..I don’t have very much. should I get a bedbugs cover mattress instead? will that work? Please help?
This week I am also buying alot of stuff to kill the bedbugs. i’ve search some products online that people blog that mention that it work, so you don’t need to tell me. I’m all set.. well maybe XD
yeah i know im not set, i can’t really afford an exterminator my father won’t let (because his gf) I’m heading to walmart to get some products i’ve search and hopefully those work. thanks btw.
just thought i add.. I don’t own any pets and no carpets. I don’t really understand.. what causes these bedbugs? I’ve clean my room about every two day.

you arent all set..you cant buy the stuff over the counter you have to call an exterminator…and you have to tell them you think you have bed bugs…the bites will look like chicken pox..small round and red…they are normally on the chest area…they come out in the dark…your entire house is infested if you have them in one mattress..and no mattress cover is going to stop them…good luck

travel…bedbugs were on the decline for literally years….until world travel became hugely popular in the 80’s..they travel in suitcases..you sleep in a hotel..you set your suitcase down..you think nothing of it…and you carry them to your house..they eat dust and mites from anything..doesnt matter about the pets or carpet..is there carpet anywhere in your house? …if you are at the point of being bitten by them…they are in your walls your baseboards..your furniture and everything where else..which is why i said you have to call a professional and actually tell him its bedbugs..because they dont spray for them..because they thought they were all gone..and the stuff is really poisonous

Untill you can replace you can vacume it and spray it and area with insectcide spray. Cover your face while applying and leave room. Air room out well when go back about 3-4 hours. Vacume again and put on the bed mattresses cover. Wash all linens from that area in hot water. Do pilows, treat or wash also. It may be fleas. If have pets check them for fleas also. *mamatx

If you’re being bitten and itch, they are bedbugs. I think you’re best bet is to save your money on pest products and buy a new mattress. You really can’t kill them.

My old apartment had a major infestation when I moved in. Bedbugs ruined my life for 6 months. I was tired and depressed. I sympathize.

The apartment exterminator couldn’t kills them. They were probably spraying a universal bug killer rather than anything designed for bed bugs. They were pretty ignorant.

LOTS of Rubbing alcohol in a squirt bottle is the best thing I have found to use to kill bedbugs. And it is cheap at $ 1 a bottle. It dries them out and they die very quickly and it won’t destroy your bed or couch. The alcohol dries quickly and cleanly. That should work if you have a minor infestation.

Be mindful of the fact that if you have a lover or friend over, they can carry bedbug to their place and develope their own infestation. You can likewise carry them to work. It is porobaly like having a very communicable STD.

If you look around at old school hardware stores, some will sell a chemical that kills bed bugs. I found it at 1 store in all of DFW.

Spray the crap out of them with the alcohol and open your windows. Leave your house to air out.

Bed bugs often live in the seams of bedding and furniture and often in the speckling of your ceiling.

Buying a new bed won’t help you if they are in your ceiling. You have to address both problems.

I had to move out of my apartment and throw away all of my cloth covered furniture and pillows to get rid of them. IMO that is the solution for a bad infestation. Just wash everything at a laundrymat right before bringing it into your new place.

You can break your lease if you take the issue up with your landlord and they don’t address it. There is an organization that protects renters from gross negligence.

Bedbugs have a weird oily smell and a waxy texture. I sleep in a white t-shirt and would roll over in the night when they woke me. I would find my shirt stained with bloody spots where I crushed them when I got up in the morning.

I have attached a picture of the kind of bedbugs I had living in Carrollton, TX.

I realize this is depressing. I have also includes some gallows humor for you. (second link)
