Bed bug bites don’t itch. They have anasthetic in their saliva so they can bite you unnoticed. What you’re describing could be anything like fleas, spiders, mosquitos. The treatment is all the same. Wipe the bites clean with antiseptic, apply anti-itch cream like Benadryl or hyrdrocortisone, and don’t itch. Bites can get infected from scratching. The germs on your fingers will infect where you scratch. Sometimes I cover my own bug bites with itch cream and a band-aid to stop myself from itching, especially mindless itching in my sleep.

Sally: I disagree with the statement that bed bug bites don’t itch! They certainly can. However, dust mites do not bite..they are microscopic and they are an inhaled allergen, so you can rule those out.
Unfortunately what you have to do is look carefully and find the little buggers! Bud bugs can be spotted on the sheets, look for little brown specks and little specks of blood. You can also look for them on the bed rails and where the headboard and footboard meet the bed rails. Fleas you just have to look at the carpets and your bed. They will be hopping, so they are a little easier to spot.
The only way to know what caused the bumps is to find the little buggers that bit you and identify them. Sorry it is not a fancier answer….but it is the truth.
