Question by the wonderer:
Can bed bugs travel on their own from building to building?

The apartments next door and across the street both have them. i know they can travel on clothes and people, but can they walk from building to building? I have heard of people affected spreading them within buildings by not treating properly. thanks

if in a poorly constructed apartment complexes i have heard of them crawling under the walls and infesting the neighbors – especially to get away form the exterminators sprays

in some complexes they consider the whole building infested and treat everyone because of one tenant bugs

but not walking across the street or from building to building with an alley – i suppose they could if really desperate but highly unlikely

Bed bugs do not travel well and are limited to 100 feet of movement in any direction. They cannot move by themselves across the street. At best they can move to an adjacent apartment if there is a way to move such as through a crack in a wall or along a pipe or electrical line.

In terms of adjacent apartments there is only a 20% chance, and a 7% chance of moving into an apartment above or below the infested room.

They literally need to be carried from one location to the next.
