I agree with lizzy – buy a new mattress. Also, check to make sure it’s bed bugs and not something else like ants that are biting you at night.

Try getting an exterminator.

Look in the telephone yellow pages.

There are much cheaper routes of removing them than purchasing a new mattress. First off, strip the bed and wash the sheets. Take out the vacuum and slowly go over every inch of the bed (including the box spring). Head down to Walmart and pick up a hypoallergenic mattress cover after you’ve done this.

If you’re willing to spend a little bit of money, get yourself some kind of a steam cleaner, the small Shark one should work just fine and “cook” them with the steam. It will kill off both the adults and the eggs so you don’t have to worry about this again.

Make sure that at least twice a month you vacuum the mattress and that will void all bed-bug flare-ups for quite some time.

Replace the hypoallergenic cover twice a year.
